A bidet is pretty amazing. I teased my fiance for getting one, but it is quite useful. It saves paper and makes me feel more clean.
During hot and sweaty summers, it's very, very useful.

i've had mostly good experiences with it. two times I booked a room months in advance, only to have the host cancel on me a few weeks before the event. that's never ever happened with a hotel.

Same here, except only one cancelation, really close to our date.

It's a really nice and affordable solution to staying somewhere while traveling. You get way more perks out of it compared to a hotel. The options available are huge as well.

Like others said though, there's a lot of protection for airbnb, so just check reviews.

Carrying credit card debt for the sake of your credit score is a bad idea, given the high interest rate and the fact that carrying a credit card balance often actually hurts your score, but there are countless stories of people's credit scores dropping suddenly after paying off student loans, car loans, or other long-term debts. That's not to say you can't have a good credit score without long-term debt, but freeing yourself from long-term debt (especially early) often does have a negative impact.

I wonder when things are being checked. Last i heard, it takes like 3 months for credit to update, so if you check immediately after payments, it's not gonna show the effect

well ackshually, you're loaning the government free monies if you're getting a refund, so in an ideal world, your return should be $0 as possible. Also, you generally don't get penalized for owing unless you owe more than $1000.

My worry is controlling what i owe. I don't mind them holding onto the money honestly cause i already invest. Makes it all feel like a bonus.

Parenting is a choice that shouldn't affect others. Why should it? There's plenty of benefits people without kids don't receive, especially in taxes.

note this does not mean that once you become an addict, your life will be forever spent living in addiction. it just means that once our patterns of usage cross the line of normal vs addict, we can't ever go backwards and "uncross" that line.

the classic story is the addict that has a few years clean under his belt and (falsely) gains confidence that he can control his usage "this time". he starts off using normally, but the temptation to slide back into addictive patterns is always there and often wins. it's why so many of us have accepted abstinence as the only realistic way to manage our addictions.

I haven't had a drink in over 12 years and I still consider myself an alcoholic. and I always will. it's just that I'm an alcoholic who chooses not to drink.

Glad someone actually gets it. I think ego is a big trigger. "I can handle it this time" and other justifications.
That's why the answers to the poll are weird. I suffer from alcoholism but i don't drink anymore.

I know this is the common thought process and works for lots of people but it is not universal. AA makes this out to be fact when it is not.

I know people who used to be full blown alcoholics and now just occasionally drink without an issue.

But I am in no way advocating that for people who have chosen to abstain completely. Do what works best of course.

Give it time or have them ask themselves what really is in control. Relapsing is so common and all you gotta ask yourself is: is it worth it? Alcohol is straight up poison. There's no reason to drink it. When someone feels the need to consume poison, what is really in control?

There are some people who can get a handle, but it's not advisable, cause most will not. Then it becomes debatable what they were addicted to in the first place.

What else do you people do work that like it?

I don't like the thought of divorce except when absolutely necessary. You gotta be getting some changed up person or something.
Marriage is about spending your life with someone and committing to them. Love is beautiful and takes work and patience. Then again, i love and trust my partner.

Work sucks but that's survival for ya. School sucked but it...didn't matter and required less effort and care. Well, like the first half of elementary school was pretty cool.

My lady cuts my hair great. Every couple months will take off an inch or so of dead ends. My hair feels great afterwards, really thick and stuff

Right now, we do what most said and just split our costs. I already have given her money in the past, so there's always that option if one of us needs a little help.

The Taste of Minnesota sounds similar to what youre describing. I havent been to it in over 20 years. I think it was cancelled due to Covid. Not sure when itll be back.

Yeah. That's been canned apparently.
In the height of covid, they spread my Meet Yourself festival out and put the music onto the radio. You'd park, stand in line, bring the food back to your car, listen to their music, repeat. All of this surrounding a nice lot with lots of food trucks and stuff.

Every year, there's an incredible food festival called Meet Yourself in my area.
basically, a couple streets are closed to vendors for people to show and sell their culture. It's mainly about the food and it is stellar.
the prices and portions are quite amazing as well. I was thinking the other night we can't be the only place to do it.
Does your area have something like this?
It's not quite like a carnival where everything is fried or giant size, and again, the prices are really good.

Maybe my lady and i will be visiting your area sometime if you have something like this.

I played a bunch as a kid, but rarely got far. That barely improved as a teenager, i just found more of what i enjoyed playing.
As an adult, i actually beat games and have patience and what not. Every now and again, I find myself jumping around games, but I still have more patience.
I used to fly through games through emulators as a kid and teen.
