The game is solid and the new Pokemon are top tier. The series was eventually going to reach a point where bringing all of the Pokedex would become unviable, and that ended up being this game. As a big fan of fighting games, it happens with them all the time, and the community shits on it, then gets over it. Pokemon is just a bigger franchise than any fighting game series, and with mostly different fans, so they probably aren't used to it.

Fighting games arent about collecting every fighter. Pokemon is about collecting every Pokmon.

also it didnt have to be like that. There are a lot of things they could have done to remedy this, including something they already said they were doing in sun and moon (future proofing the models) that they then walked back on only to reveal they were lying about the reason for the walk back.

there is no excuse for gamefreak to treat the Pokemon franchise like they do.

Shuichi is making me reassess the notion that a DR protagonist is boring. He is badass as fuck right now. And he's doing it without plot SSJ powers or help from Kyoko. He's just cracking the game open with pure logic, Apollo Justice style.

Told you V3's protagonist is the best of the bunch by a mile :p

I don't really want to shiny hunt for my first one either since I feel like that ruins the specialness of that first one especially.

Skipping Sky would be a big mistake not just because of world building but because theyre also just better games.

the Witcher games are sequels to the books. The author doesnt consider them canon, but that doesnt really matter at this point.

Also I didn't like chapter 4 at all, mostly because of several things: I figured out the main trick of the case super easily (anyone thats played old RPGs should get it immediately...), I like Miu a lot, and don't really like Gonta.

I've never had any issues with Ori and I've played it twice on PC with an Xbox One controller.

Yeah but she never actually did anything with it and reformed by the end/in UDG. All her stuff is in the past and is never acted on in-story.

Kiyo is 100% unapologetically crazy with no redemption or anything.

Eh I think I'm more of a fan of AA. It's more grounded in the sense it makes it easier to feel for the characters.

DR is a bit like "look how craaaaaazy this world is", which sometimes works but sometimes doesn't.

Its funny because my opinion is exactly the same, but opposite.

Phoenix Wright is too wacky for me to get emotionally invested in most of the time, and DR isn't.

I like 3-2 and 3-3 a lot. Nothing special, but they're probably the best midgame cases in the series.

Its 3-4 I don't like, personally. I think its straight up a bad case, aside from the ending, which is fine.

I also kinda like that for one of the first times in DR, the guy that looked like a psychopath actually WAS a psychopath.

Normally they're like 'oh but they have hidden depths and aren't so bad' but nope Kiyo just nuts.

The best part about case 3 is the motive is literally 'seesaw effect'

He'd have 100% gotten away with it if he just didn't go "But... BUT THE SEESAW TRICK I DIDN'T USE IT HRRGGGGH"

The murder motive for this one is incredible. It's so, so dumb that it's incredible.

The dance minigame is probably the hardest minigame in Yakuzo 0 imo (if you don't count mahjong and shogi anyway)

It took me quite awhile to get decent at it.

Generally I prefer female characters if not, male characters if there is.

But I don't save steak for a holiday. I can eat it any time. Turkey is more fun to go all out preparing, is more communal, and even if you do like steak better (which is subjective), is still delicious when properly prepared.

Turkey is its own thing and is delicious. Steak is also delicious. They are both good and there is no need to limit yourself to only one or the other.

The sheer horror of the scene (and some Mitarai anime magic) drives all the class into despair.

This is the main reason why people hate what the DR3 anime did to DR2.

It completely strips all responsibility from the entire cast aside from Hajime (and he still gets much less than what was originally portrayed), and makes Junko way less impressive as a villain. DR2 implied Junko slowly turned each of them to despair by finding their weaknesses and exploiting them, whereas DR3 shows 'lol she just mind controlled them all to be evil!'

It makes a very interesting twist that gives the DR2 characters a lot more depth almost completely void.

Yeah but the problem is that its also 'like Dark Souls' and I don't like those games!

The mention of it being faster paced is a plus though because Dark Souls feels absolutely plodding to me.

This goes on my 'maybe one day when I'm bored, its on sale, and there's nothing coming out' pile personally

Also yes you straight up haven't finished the game if you haven't played Act 3. There's so much plot that you miss if you don't.

I don't believe the person you end up with was "magically" your soulmate all along.

The whole point of 'soulmate' is that if any of those what ifs happen, they were never your soulmate to begin with and you just haven't found them yet.
