There are privacy slats you can insert:

Tried getting a fence last year for our house which was new construction. Basically all the fence companies get sucked up by new developments for all the common areas + other new construction. Got a quote June 1 and didn't start until mid-July. $10k for 280 ft of vinyl plus 20 feet of iron fencing. The neighbors did split the cost though.

If you could make that a possibility via websites maybe you'd have an argument.

I feel like there's pre- and post-covid income disparity. $100k is a lot if you had bought a house/car/etc... before covid when things were much cheaper with sub 4% interest rates. You've got lower payments on debt and so more to save or spend. Then there's the post-covid person that didn't get that kind of income until after everything shot up in price and you're now paying much more in interest on everything.

Two people in the same town making the same $100k but one person is clearly a lot better off.

So I think there's some truth to it. Granted I've been working remotely since covid and haven't lived anywhere near my direct coworkers since.

Dandelions fly (literally) in the face of conventional lawn maintenance fundamentals. People like to have a uniform grass lawn and have their flowers outside of the lawn in areas they control. Dandelions are good at surviving and really good at reproducing and spreading over an entire yard very quickly.

My wife and I go get ramen at a restaurant about once per month. We got it for Valentine's Day this year. We have our one place that we know does it well and then we also go and try new ones. Some are hits some are misses. Good ramen at a restaurant isn't even in the same plane of existence as cheap grocery store ramen.

And then there is air pollution from it that causes millions of deaths a year from Cancer. Pretty sure fossil fuel pollution alone has caused more deaths in a single year then Nuclear power has ever.

This is a symptom of another problem that goes back to the OP, which is that people respond to acute events so much better than chronic ones. For whatever reason humans identify with the one-time disaster but if something isn't directly threatening them then they don't take action, as in the case with the "environmental crisis". There's still a ton of climate change denial even after presented with skyrocketing sea temperatures, increased extreme weather events, and the extinction of winter staring them right in their faces.

First recognizing that there is already a massive push for renewables and has been for a few decades now. I think the posts in this topic have already covered that.

We still live in a capitalist system with regulatory controls and property rights. You can't just decide to build a solar farm anywhere and start breaking ground the next day. The government does provide pretty lucrative subsidies to the renewable industry (though not even remotely to the scale of oil and gas). But to actually build a project you still need 1) a return on investment (companies don't do this for free), 2) regulatory approval from the grid (can't just tap into the power lines), and 3) federal, state, county, and local government approval to build (not everyone wants your project in their backyard). It takes YEARS to go from "lets build a wind farm here" to figuring out how it'll work financially, getting a power purchase agreement, obtaining financing if needed, going through all the interconnection approvals, getting landowners to sell/lease their land, feasibility studies, atmospheric measuring, environmental surveys and agency coordination, permitting applications and public hearings, getting the materials, labor negotiations, designs then changes to design, then mobilization to construct.

There's about 700 steps in the process that can kill the project. I'm on a solar project in California right now where we're supposed to start construction NEXT WEEK and I'm told the project may not start because we don't have some necessary items yet.

Keep in mind that most of the crazy trolling and offensive-ness was something done nearly 20 years ago by now. Most of the users on LUE are just 30-somethings at the youngest, socializing on the internet. You'll get worse stuff on an average subreddit. The users on LUE or LUE-adjacent communities aren't random trolls anymore, for the most part. They got a bad rep for the legitimately dumb and borderline-dangerous stuff they did two decades ago but that's literally all in the past.

It has been an interesting transition from trolling teenagers to topics on girls in college to people getting married to having kids and buying houses over the years. And the inevitable death announcement here and there.

Got put in the wrong bracket this year so we owed about $4000 federal. After deductions we still owed about $3000. Luckily we got back almost exactly the same amount from state taxes also due to a clerical fuckup. We ended up getting ~$100 back at the end.

Usually I get a small refund.

It'll play most AAA games up to a few years ago on high settings and a lot of newer ones with some tweaks. It's a linux computer that has a desktop mode so it's extremely modifiable. It's the best emulator I've ever used. I play it docked most of the time and it's effectively a console but then when I travel I can bring it with me. You can upload other media like shows and movies and watch them on it.

Biggest complaint would be battery life but its competitors aren't really any better in that department.

I don't play fighting games but you can connect whatever controller you want.
