That was mid way through season 10 or 11. First great episode in several seasons at that point and imo was when the show started getting a little of its groove back for the rest of the show.

The story you posted probably does sound like a dream scenario for some people, but you have to be very lucky and stumble into the opportunity. The odds of a young person buying in a cool market, then watching their equity explode in ten years as the market turns red-hot, and then cashing out to live the good life... are very slim.

Even if you *were* sitting on a mountain of equity that you could cash out tax-free (married couples get 500k tax-free gain on the sale of their primary home, single people get 250k), you'd still need to be willing to relocate far away, and many people have things preventing them from doing that.

I can actually use my brother's neighborhood as an example. In 2021, he bought a very modest house in an area of Los Angeles county that was clearly working class (mostly 3 bedrooms, all built before 1950), but since it's LA, these simple homes are still worth like 900k now. When I look around his street, I notice that all of his neighbors are normal blue-collar folks who bought these homes decades ago, when it was affordable for average-income earners to actually do that. They're now sitting on mountains of equity, yet hardly any of them move out.

All the areas around them have grown more expensive too, so like you said, they'd have to move to completely new places at this stage of their life. Also, their grown children, who usually live with them because they are priced out of getting their own places, would be totally screwed. So you have situations where the house is worth a million bucks, but it's a cluttered piece of crap with multiple generations living inside and like five cars parked outside.

Well I think the reboot with Gary Oldman is better than Robocop 3 at least.

The absolute worst ones are the 2 Canadian TV movies/mini-series. Black Robocop is Black. Get it it? Because he's Black.

The handheld side of things is 1000% a huge part of why the Switch sells so well to begin with

If you live in rural area you can have one of those honest farm stands. Where you just put all this food out and say 5 dollars for a 5 apples. And have people put the money in a lock box. And get their apples.

It looks like a fake city because it IS a fake city. There is no real Gotham. These are just sets.

What they got right about it, though, was the architecture, dirtiness and overall tone.

It's actually one of my criticisms of the Nolan films. Though I much preferred them overall to every other Batman films, in 2 and 3 Gotham was just Chicago.

Tim Burton and Batman could have worked, maybe. But the theatrically artsy part of the director's style didn't work for the villain at all. Maybe if they had chosen like the Mad Hatter or somebody it might have turned out better. Joker is supposed to be loud and funny instead of dramatic and contemplative.

I'm also not a fan of all the henchman killing that goes on, though I've heard Batman's no kill rule was not as strict at the time as it is today, or even didn't exist at all. I don't really remember because I didn't really get into Baan until Begins. So that would be more like an aging issue.

Still, they did largely nail the look. Yellow symbol Batman is best Batman. The winged Batmobile is sick. Gotham actually looks right, etc.

the game should not be remade with the original personality quirks. The Gamecube version of Animal Crossing made kids cry because of how mean the characters were and because of Mr. Resetti and the general creepiness of the game.

there literally is no way for us to know even know what lies beyond the cosmic horizon. due to the expansion of the universe, light from past a certain point at the edge of the visible universe will literally never reach us. and everything in the universe is moving away from everything else as the universe expands. so, sometime in the far future, all the other galaxies we see now are going to be past that cosmic horizon and there light will never ever reach the life that would exist here at that point in time.

comparing it to discovering dinosaur fossils would only make sense if there was a theoretical part of the earth's interior that we have never detected and will never be able to detect and will never ever even know that it's there, and there are dinosaur fossils in that.
