They must be pretty Godly sounding. I don't know if I would personally spend that much, but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 300-400 dollars pair of headphones.
Right around 170ish you hit the sweet spot from good sounding to amazing. As for my 1700 pair, it took a lot of things outside of actual money to get them. It was kind of a crowd thing .. many people got together to pay for part of them, and I handled the rest. If I had a ton of money to throw around, oh yeah, but in my current situation, I would not spend that much. My largest buy in my price bracket now is $660 for Audio-Technica AD2000
