I've been a big fan of the banana stands for storing my headphones, but I've decided to see what all the fuss is about with these hose hooks. I see people talk about how they're great for headphones all the time. So I ordered one. They look great.
Pardon the terrible pictures - my current phone is running a custom rom with no camera driver - it's a work in progress. So I used a dumbphone. -- Digi They took out my left ventricle and atrium, James said half-heatedly. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Seems a little silly to have something like that when you can just lay the headphones on something and take up less space.

From: shadosneko | #002 Sure, if you're using $20 headphones. But I've got pairs that range from $60 to $1700 so, ya know. Laying headphones down is not good for them - especially because they can get knocked around, etc. Plus I don't want them scuffed. EDIT: Also, the stand takes up less desk space than if I laid my headphones down. -- Digi They took out my left ventricle and atrium, James said half-heatedly. ... Copied to Clipboard!

From: Psycho_Kenshin | #005 You deny that it can scuff them? Or that it leaves them in danger of being knocked around? You should treat them like any other premium electronics, especially if you pay a premium price. Most headphones aren't built to be set down on things like, say, a keyboard or a phone back. The point is that laying them on a desk is careless and not an ideal situation for storing them -- Digi I'll stop at nothing to avoid using negative numbers. ... Copied to Clipboard!

From: foolm0ron | #007 That's how I used to do it. I guess it's also the collector in me - once I become a collector, I decided I wanted them on stands. Also since I have a couple glossy sets, I can't stand the scratches and stuff -- Digi I've grown to hate low ceilings. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Ya know.. Over time hanging them like that will probably leave permanent imprint on the headphones. Not to mention, the metal on the hose hook will probably scuff them as well.

From: SnoicFactor | #009 Nope. I have extra padding, it's just not pictured in the topic since I was trying to show how perfect the hook works. It also depends on the type of material of the band. From: Soul_Devour | #013 Right around 170ish you hit the sweet spot from good sounding to amazing. As for my 1700 pair, it took a lot of things outside of actual money to get them. It was kind of a crowd thing .. many people got together to pay for part of them, and I handled the rest. If I had a ton of money to throw around, oh yeah, but in my current situation, I would not spend that much.
