People like this actually exist? That's cute. Pretty sure by the time I was 14 there was nothing on the internet I hadn't seen, be it real life or drawn...
Hrmm. I think I was 17 when I picked up this Manga. But I definitely do not agree with Tak, I think there still quite a few people out there who have not been completely corrupted by the internet/etc.
But with that said I feel like I DID lose some part of myself when I read this manga. But I also think that might contribute as to why I enjoyed it so much, because I think this manga series is really really good. It shocked me in ways I had not been shocked before. This is probably largely why it has had such a lasting impact.
If you more or less enjoy the plot (which apparently you do?) then I would say press on. Yeah I was 17 when I first read it, but if I had not have picked it or anything similar to it up then I'd have been just as "young" in that way even if I was 20+ when I first read it. It was a new experience and would have a similar impact no matter when I read it.
I think I'm still not entirely comfortable with some of the sexuality, but that is easily glanced over.
