My parents did once ask me "Why did you buy a 3DS if you're not even going to use the 3D? You had a DS, didn't you?"
But they also asked me why I needed a Playstation 2 or "[Game Title] 2" when I already had a Playstation and "[Game Title]" when I was younger, so I think that's just an old person thing.
