Compared to the iPhone, certainly. No one is confused about a new iPhone because Apple makes sure people know it's new, it's different, and why they need it. The 3DS, and WiiU, by comparison had mixed messages and a lack of focus surrounding them. I don't think the name in either case was or is a big deal--3DS was overpriced with no system selling games; WiiU has numerous problems that come before name confusion--but it's not hard to understand why people get iPhone 4S but may be confused about WiiU. Nintendo made all kinds of peripherals for the Wii, not entirely different from multiple DS models.
