And you're beyond help if you think that this is the reason people don't dry hump Earthbound's story. It has far more problems with its delivery, pacing, and cohesion, but I guess you wouldn't notice since it seems that it's a fandom requirement to wear rose tinted lenses.

I guess that means I'm "beyond help," then- and Christ, don't you think that's a little strong? Do you even read what you write?- because the story of EarthBound *is* the reason I'd give it the perfect score. No, it doesn't follow a traditional schema; yes, the plot developments are infrequent. But the game is simply masterful at getting you invested in its world. Each of its cities and locales is brimming with quirkiness and personality, and for what it's worth, never have I seen a game balance childlike enthusiasm with deep existential themes before like EarthBound.

...But you know, "beyond help" and all that.
