Seems rather irresponsible of them to be so far away from the hospital when she could give birth at any time (they were at 38 weeks for Pete's sake) and they knew there would be major medical issues.
What would you suggest they do in that situation? I mean, you live where you live, I'm not sure how they'd fix that, and probably no affordable way.
Agreed an ambulance seems like the right idea. I know that's really expensive in America, but I'm not sure if there's a charge for that in Canada with their system.
