People are literally customers and literally allowed to complain about something that requires payment to use.
People will literally defend bad moves by companies.
As a guy who has the game pre-ordered I do not mind this at all. Find it amusing, really. Nothing about this hurts my enjoyment of the game on any level. And hey if I get an awesome item I can't use maybe I can make a dollar, but if if I can't not like I was hyped for Diablo 3 as an income source or anything.
I guess I can understand why this would annoy people, but of all of the bad things the company has done (and I think their CEO is a garbage person to the industry of video games) I don't mind this move.
