TFT's campaign IMO is the best RTS campaign due to the hero system. I also feel that SC2 had an excellent campaign in terms of the missions being fun, despite the storyline.
But regardless of how you feel about their single player, both are excellent multiplayer games any way you slice it.
TFTs story was so laughable that any good gameplay becomes 2nd fiddle.
SC2s campaign was perfectly unique in terms of mission variety, but again the laughable storyline makes sc2's campaign pathetic.
Id argue that war3/tft is only average multiplayer due to randomness of item drops in creep camps, sc2's multiplayer has been pretty damn great this past year. Its also a shame that dota ruined war 3's custom map scene.
Uh, what? DotA is the only reason to play Warcraft 3.
