Isn't it common knowledge that popular things are nearly always awful? After all, there's a reason they're popular... For one, anything that appeals to so many different people will obviously be extremely shallow and simple to accomodate so many different tastes. Secondly, the majority of people are stupid and conformist, and thus, popular things will have to cater to stupid conformist people, which automatically = bad.
It's the rule of the lowest common denominator.

The "liked by girls" part is unnecessary. Female interests won't hold much interest to males, but that alone wouldn't be enough to make them horrible. Being popular, on the other hand, usually does.
