Yeah. The cancelled books are ones that ended up not really fitting with the flow of the story. And you don't really need to read anything that's not a novel. The short stories, ebooks, and comics are kind of extra.
Best books are probably Star by Star, the Edge of Victory duology, and The Unifying Force.
The badguys in the NJO are some of the most brutal and cool villains ever. You'll see.
