Yoda almsot lost to Count Dooku in Episode II. He may have w funny way of speaking but he sucks. He also flat out lost to Palpatine. MAce Windu put up a much better fight.

Oh god you are terrible.
Yoda did not even close to almost lose to Dooku, he was forced to stop fighting and save Obi-Wan and Anakin while Dooku escaped. There's no chance he's better than Yoda. BTW, Dooku *could* have won while Yoda was distracted by using the force to protect Anakin and Obi-Wan. Dooku could have asily walked over to Yoda while he was concentrating and cleave him in two LOL. Am I wrong? Yoda never even hurt Dooku ... Copied to Clipboard!

I would argue that Mace Windu would probably beat Yoda in a straight up fight. Even if Force powers are included, I don't see Yoda being that much of a better Force user to edge out the best lightsaber duelist.

Word of God (aka Lucas) says that before Anakin and Luke, Yoda was the strongest Jedi and Palpatine the strongest Sith. Palpatine actually has the honor of being the strongest Sith ever.
Lucas also says that Anakin had the potential to become the strongest Force user ever, but much of that was lost due to losing his limbs and whatnot. Luke, however, had the same potential, and did reach it, and Lucas has confirmed that Luke is the strongest Force user ever in the Star Wars universe, and that no one will ever surpass him. Palps may have actually gotten weaker by the time of the OT, at least in terms of lightsaver combat. He spent most of his time lazing around and reveling in ruling the Empire. I don't really think he spent much time doing anything with his blade. His Force skills may have improved.

This is true, but if you've got someone like Luke, whose mastery of the Force has far surpassed both Palps' and Yoda's, while simultaneously being an insanely talented duelist...well, that's when you become dang near unstoppable. EU Luke has been so strong in recent years that they usually have to find excuses to keep him out of the battles or else he just wrecks shop. Palps really won the force battle on luck, really. Both were sent flying backwards in their force tug-o-war, whereas Palps happened to land in the right spot and Yoda didn't.

As for PT Yoda vs OT Yoda, PT Yoda was much cockier than OT Yoda. I always felt that his days on Dagobah are what humbled Yoda and made him realize the error of both his and the Jedi ways, and why he teaches Luke what he does. Yoda's reliance on the lightsaber in the PT was a reflection of the time: Jedi were changed from keepers of the peace to outright soldiers and generals.

EU Luke was already broken and ridiculously strong before the most recent book series started, and now in that series they've given him the ability to teleport objects around. So far he's only done it with smaller stuff...but still, that's ridiculous. And he's the first known Jedi to have mastered it.
