the original zelda isn't my favorite but that's more a factor of age, its design philosophy is much better than a game like twilight princess, it just doesn't benefit from nicer graphics, more memory, having more controller functions and all of that. majora's mask is the closest 3D zelda ever went towards the originals design philosophy, and maybe not so coincidentally it's also the best game in the series.
