I still think Zelda 1 is the best NES game by a fair margin and one of the 5 best games in the series. Haven't played TP yet but I've played all the rest (including the DS ones).
I've only played a handful of NES games, but I agree. I've never been a big fan of Mario Bros. 1-3.
