Well yeah, but from the writeup, what he does is subject to The Audience's whims, and so far, they want him to lose, so lose he shall. Unless what he does isn't restricted to what The Audience wants.

Just a note to clarify for everyone: the Host does have Free Will and he can do his own thing. The Audience isn't a tangible being that forcibly compels him to do stuff, he just talks to them directly and sets things up to entertain them. So if he decided to defeat Neuro here, he wouldn't be locked down due to his disobedience and stripped of his powers - he'd just have to provide The Audience with entertainment down the line. The Audience knows what 'payoff' means after all!




Repeating this for emphasis: The Host does his own thing. He just has the vague directive of "entertain The Audience".
