i mean when you think about it, all everyone really wants to see in this match is ganon. so in a mystery finish, should he lose, he simply did it to ganon by using neuro as a proxy. ganon still wins the match and ought to get the spell.
however some people are buzzkills. it's better to win so he can guarantee giving ganon the spell for next round. and ganon should in exchange get something from neuro. it's all for the real man of the contest.
This is my headcanon interp. People can fanvote against the Host, but in practice he lives to provide entertainment and Neuro isn't a funny MPFC entrant. He's basically 'cute' thanks to Evil Metal's gimmick and wins on that and maybe unravelings, but can't really back up the power against truly strong entrants who supersede that gimmick. Like Ocelot, only not as fun.
