What? The stomp would work just as well in a 3d environment. And the range is pretty decent, Iji is only slightly smaller than Zero, meaning the Tor battle is larger than most boss chambers from X/Zero. And it's not gameplay mechanics anymore than Zero having weapons that create pillars of energy out of thin air is.
