Ah. There's a ton of fantastic Marvel comics from the last 10 years. They've probably been the best publisher over that course of time, though Image has taken over in my mind in the last couple. If you want good, recent Marvel comics, Daredevil and Punisher just underwent relaunches. Daredevil might be the best book on the shelf. It's four issues in, while Punisher is three. Neither book requires prior knowledge of either characters, but both are written by two of the best: Mark Waid (Daredevil) and Greg Rucka (Punisher).

Captain America has been fantastic, but Brubaker has been on that book for ages. The new relaunch of both Captain America & Bucky, and Captain America are new reader friendly, but it's for the best if you just go to a library and start picking up Captain America trades.
