Camera Obscura - My Maudlin Career
This album was okay I guess, but it's another one of those standard indie pop affairs that doesn't really distinguish itself from its peers. The one thing the band has going for them is the voice of the singer chick, it's different and kind of endearing. The first two songs on this album in particular are pretty good and remain interesting and upbeat enough. The rest of the album sort of drags on though, too many of the tempos just drag. At times the lyrics aren't so great either. I very well may acquire the singles for the first two songs on this thing, but the rest of the tracks kind of slump in comparison. Verdict: Fail
