Also, development costs should be considered. High development cost and time seems to be wrecking some companies. We're seeing pretty large amounts of time between each Final Fantasy game, for instance. If those increase again next gen we may see some companies really struggle to put out big budget games.
That's a problem with Square Enix and poor management more than it is anything. We've seen larger, better looking games being made in shorter time than it takes Square to make one of their games. Fortunately, they and other Japanese publishers have been preparing for next-gen already instead of letting it sneak up on them like last time.
