I don't see how students are taught to 'disdain America'. Nor do I see many of the other issues he brings up.
Yeah, on the contrary, the fact that "US History" and "World History" were given the same weight in high school kinda gave me the gut instinct that America was on its own equal to the entire rest of the world!
