I'm in the most uncomfortable skill area in fighting games. I'm by far the best player I know IRL, but I'm garbage compared to anybody fighting online. There's literally nobody I can have a competitive match with. I'm either beating the snot out of my friends who can't pull off a shoryuken reliably, or I'm getting OCV'd by people online.
It's like everyone who used to be as good as me stopped playing fighting games entirely, while I kept playing but never actually got any better.
This completely. Only exception is when my one friend bought Mortal Kombat.
Also, the online community general tends to turn me off, gets tiring playing the same 3 characters people are willing to choose over and over. Similar to NBA 2k games where it just gets boring when everyone chooses the Heat, or Bulls, etc.
