Topics like this are the shame of the gaming community.
When did good gameplay become "backtracking", "fetch quests" and "padding"? What went wrong? Set the clock to 10 years ago and nobody complained about this stuff. Today, people seem to start whining whenever a game lasts more than 5 hours or, dare I say it, requires you to go to the same location twice.
Kids today would probably get a frothing seizure 20 minutes into Banjo-Kazooie.
