The main issue is that 90% if not more of the people enlisted or commissioned in the military don't do s*** like this, but that other 10%... And it's unlikely they will get off Scott free, at least not in the Corps, not sure about the Army. Also, having served in the military, I can say that the hero worship for military personnel is out of hand in this country, it's just a job, appreciation is nice and all, but we're all human.
Thank you for being realistic. Know that what I said in this topic seems kind of vitriolic, I try REALLY HARD not to be overtly negative toward the troops in general because that's unfair. It's just extremely difficult with the way the country worships them and the desire to try and combat that with negativity is very high. I am glad there are vets like you that are realistic.
