But what if a reviewer legitimately loved Skyrim and gives it 10/10? Do you want him to lie and make up problems (or overblow tiny problems, same difference) so that the review is more "interesting"? Because it does seem like some reviewers do this, and to me at least, I find it really annoying.

Good for that reviewer. I'm just not going to read his review. I don't care about why the game is great. If I want to know that I can go to the developer's or the publisher's site. They'll probably have no shortage of praise for it. I want to why the game sucks. Even if it's just some petty little detail, maybe it's a petty little detail that would make or break the game for me. Or maybe it's not a big deal for me and I can dismiss it as such. Whether the reviewer has an honest beef or is grasping for maor hitz doesn't matter.

The same applies to any sort of review, really. When I'm looking at Amazon reviews for whatever sort of product I go straight to the 1 and 2 star reviews because I want to know what went wrong. I don't need hundreds of thousand word essays telling me that it works exactly as advertised.
