Y'know what other RPG is simple and takes place in a world slightly less removed from reality than Earthbound?

Earthbound's normal day-to-day world operates the same as ours other than the fact that an all-powerful evil entity is taking over and corrupting things. When you defeat him, you will return the world to normal (like many stories). Pokemon's world literally revolves around people as young as 10-years old venturing out on their own and capturing super-powerful monsters and battling each other. Even organized crime revolves around this concept. When you win in that game, you just kind of prove your more awesome than everyone else.
