Ah yes, I agree. I really love how there's so many ways to mess with the enemies.
I also love how unique the boss fights are. Unlike other games where there's usually just a set pattern or method. In the MGS series, in 3 especially, there's a bunch of different techniques. It's amazing.
When I first fought The End, someone already told me beforehand that it was like an hour long battle, I think. In that first run of the game I was mostly using lethal weapons, so it was awesome to move to areas and try to spot The End from a vantage point and snipe him with my SVD. It took me 45 minutes to defeat him. It was so fun. He's still my favorite boss fight ever.
Gotta disagree with you here. The End, The Boss, The Sorrow, and possibly The Fury are all fun, but the The Pain is boring and dumb and The Fear's power is literally "I own a crossbow." Volgin is pretty fun, though.
That said, The End and The Boss are so good that it doesn't matter what the rest of them are like.
