I've heard several different malls/stores do this. Are problems with teens really that bad to warrant this?

You don't really have as much of your own space as you used to, you just kind of get thrown into the internet with everyone else.
And that's not even accounting for how crazy everyone is online or the 2-3 years they lost out on.

Pretty much. Can't play and explore the neighborhood because parents are too scared and certain people being petty jerks about people walking up and down the street, can't go to the mall, several other different hang out spots closing down (arcades, skating rinks, some parks) or having strict entry requirements. I sound like a boomer right now, but I'm glad I grew up when I did.
