Bethesda really wanted to push the idea of a "Doom Universe" as like a Marvel-ish grimdark canon but it didn't work out because of how sloppily everything was planned out. Invasion Mode would have been a game changer IMO. It was a cancelled mode that allowed you to randomly spawn into peoples' campaigns as a buffed demon and try to stop them from progressing. Would have been funny to see a streamer playing the game and get their Ultra Nightmare run fucked over by another player spawning in as Mancubus. --- And that blood is so real, because I just can't fake it.
