It wasnt always a factor, but its just an unexpected thing that happens in the movie. Nothing new is revealed. I dont really think you can call any surprise in the plot a twist. That would be like saying a jump scare in a horror film a twist. I guess we're arguing semantics here, but I would consider that a twist, as it sounds like it's a pretty extreme break from the natural progression of the movie. It would be like saying if the two bad guys reveal they are aliens at the end. I would consider that just as much of a twist as what actually happens in the movie.
