You don't even need to watch it (though I recommend because it's well made), but you can read the plot synopsis itself on wikipedia to know why this movie will make people mad. It's to prove a point, but still goddamn.

it pissed me off too. it was also one of the only movies to scare me, cuz usually i have the excuse of 'well im genre savvy so id be fine' then the remote scene happened

Yeah, I outright despise that movie. It's a psychological horror movie that's trying to guilt trip the viewers who are wanting to see a horror movie. It's like it was saying "oh, you wanted to see X happen, well too bad!"

Manipulative garbage.

Didnt sound like a movie Id have any interest in watching, so I just read the plot on Wikipedia.

Assuming it is accurate, I wouldve threw my TV away if I had watched this movie.

That may be the all time worst plot twist Ive ever read.

Excellent movie.

People get too hung up on the "twist". It's a super well crafted movie even without the meta stuff. There's a lot to it.

The "twist" isn't even a twist. It's hinted at in the first 5 minutes and then the fourth wall is flat out shattered about 15 minutes in. You just don't know how far they'll take it and then it goes right back out of it.

There's plenty of meta commentary about violence in media, horror movies and other things, but with or without that stuff, it's just a really great home invasion movie. Great gut-wrenching horror without relying on gore.

The only difference is the cast and that they speak English. Same script, same director, same location. Which makes it an extremely pointless film but in no way worse.

Youre going off of summaries. Movies arent made on paper. You cant understand the experience of a movie if youve literally never seen it
