Honestly, same. Joey was always my favorite right from the start. He wasn't some ancient Egyptian game god or too rich to fail, he was just a guy with guts, luck, and just enough wit to go toe to toe with the superpowers around him. And I love protagonists like that! He really deserved to win that duel, to show just how much he had grown and to let the tournament end properly on the promised duel between him and Yugi. And honestly, wouldn't it have been so cool to see the villain get taken out before even actually facing the main protagonist?~

Well, I guess it's not so bad. He did end up breaking out of the shadow realm through sheer force of will to cheer on his best friend. That's a heck of a feat~
