Topic | How do people afford luxury vacations internationally?? |
darkknight109 12/16/24 1:00:51 PM #35: | xAzNPimP4LiFex posted... yet people I know are taking luxury vacations to Japan, Bali, Hawaii, or Brazil and spending thousands on it? How the hell do people afford this?A good job, mostly. I make six figures and that pays for nice vacations if you save for them. Also, I can only speak for Japan, but it's honestly not that expensive of a trip if you want to do it on a budget. You can get airfare from North America for <$1000 if you don't mind waiting for special deals; you can get nightly accommodations for <$50 a night (capsule hotels, hostels, etc.), the trains are cheap and will take you wherever you want to go (and if you want to see a big chunk of the country, the regional JR Rail passes are still good value, even though the country-wide one is now no longer worth it; a couple hundred bucks gets you a week's access to 90+% of the trains, including the shinkansen, in one of Japan's regions), and food is not particularly expensive. I usually splurge on my trips to Japan, but if you forced me to do it on a budget, I could probably plan a pretty good two-week trip for ~$3000 per person. --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer. Kill 10 men: You are a monster. Kill 100 men: You are a hero. Kill 10,000 men, you are a conqueror! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
