You kind of need some connections to get a job. Too many resumes get thrown out by the computer systems and never get looked at by a human.

My sister had an undergrad & grad degree in Spanish. She tried teaching. She hated it. My mom actually helped her get a job at the aerospace company she worked at in procurement. My sister had no business background but they were willing to take her on because they did have suppliers in Mexico. She makes pretty good money now but they would not have looked at her if mom didnt pull in a few favors.

This simply isnt true. Ive had more than 30 jobs and none of them have been gained through connections.
