My current qualifications are... I have my Bachelor's in biology and have been at a political opinion phone surveyor at two places remotely.

I'm not sure what to do next. I'm an artist. I make music, write books, and am now making comics. I'm not sure how to progress in terms of what jobs to look for.

I'm on Indeed. I think I'll keep using that. But it seems I have to go work for some random company with a good net value and keep getting promoted within that company? I want to move to Denver in 2 years, but if I can't find a job that'll pay me $30 it'll take longer.

I make $15/hr right now btw. Out of work since election season is over. I wonder if I can file for unemployment? Lol...

Warehouses pay fairly well. I make $22.78 an hour at my job and it's not difficult. Just drive equipment around and put items into stock or drive equipment around and pull items out of stock.

It of course depends on geography but I just want to say sometimes look for apprentice/training blue collar jobs that pay surprisingly well. You might not get it right out of the gate but there is good money in jobs like plumbing, welding, electrician, HVAC, stuff like that. Even in my area of the Midwest where wages are lower (but cost of living is low too) these jobs can pay well above that after some experience.

My work (I work at a power plant) struggled for like 3 years to fill the spots we had with experienced operators. We gave up and hired trainees with no experience starting at $25 an hour in jobs that will top out over $40 an hour in a few years. And for context our wages are low compared to the city utility because we have free insurance and way better retirement and benefits.

So its not always about the $ per hour either when you consider insurance, amount of vacation and paid suck leave provided, that our employer contributes 200% into our retirement what we put in monthly up to a certain percentage. Look at the entire picture.

So look for this type of stuff. Good luck.

I was going to say Pickling operator but that looks like an $18 an hour job, which isn't a lot working a job that makes you smell like industrial acid chemicals, which if you don't know makes you smell like burnt matches, skunk and anus simultaneously to everyone in a 100 foot radius.

Yeah, Heavy machinery jobs pay that much but I don't expect anyone wants to "on site" train you on a heavy machine.

With a bachelors degree and a non-zero amount of work experience, you're probably qualified for the average "computer toucher" corporate job. Learn a little excel and search for things like marketing coordinator, sales operations specialist, planner.

Probably harder to get into than the blue collar jobs people are recommending, but it is possible.

Why in the world would you get a biology degree and make zero effort to be employed in any field of biology? It sounds like you haven't made much thought of how to support yourself if your job requirements are "idk, whatever." And "art" is obviously nigh impossible to monetize for 99% of people. This is a bad spot to be in, cuz

As an artist who is a graphic designer (with an education design mind you) I chose this job to survive capitalism doing something remotely creative.

If you're good enough, and have a good portfolio, you can get the job without the paper, but it helps.

Beyond that, computer toucher or soft retail are your options. (I conside GameStop soft retail, things that involve lightweight objects and no warehouse or food).

My husband went from an Anthropology degree to just being a Financial Clerk for multiple companies under a book keeper. He's pretty good at it and was taught by the company, mostly.

The computer toucher people keep mentioning is probably your best bet. I know of the people that do scheduling/billing/time at my office, a couple had history or English degrees/whatever.

In this case its an accounting firm, but most decent size offices had positions like that. Not quite up to $30 an hour here; but a hell of a lot closer than your current work.

A $30hr job is going to require either extra schooling, time in a company, or use of your degree. You can find jobs that pay 20-26 an hr, but most of those will require manual labor of some kind, at the very least equipment training.

Unless your art is good, then you can try making adult content via patreon. I know that can make a lot, depending on the content.

I don't mind doing 20-26 and hour and going up in a company. I don't mind taking courses, but like, I don't want to go back to college, it's too slow and boring.

Manual labor... I'm willing to do some, but I don't want to break my back or something. I don't know, it's just I've always lived a mostly sedentary life and I don't wanna drastically shock myself. I do go to the gym 5 days a week and run 1-2 miles a day.

Yeah, because descriptions are likely to vary by position/company

Where I work, most of them are classified as admins of various sorts, but could call it anything really, especially in different industries.

You have to read the the job descriptions, and mostly see if a specific degree is required or just more along the lines of college degree and these skills. If you need a degree in the field, mostly likely rules you out, if not learn the key words with some google/reddit searches and prep a resume.

In this case, you would probably want to make a one page resume for each job (or related series of jobs at similar companies) and use that, instead of one extremely vague general one that will be filtered out by automated systems.

I do customs brokerage entry writing and make $35 I have no degree besides high school. You could try to get into that. I work from home full time but it's fairly complicated.

A degree in biology could help as there is APHIS and FDA entries that require some biology/biologic knowledge.
