There is a magazine you can find that gives you a +5 radiation resistance effect that will actually cut incoming radiation from water, or from consuming irradiated foods and drinks. The other time to consider Aquaboy is when you find the Wasteland Survivor magazine with the 'Water Aerobics for Ghouls' cover. That one gives you a very noticeable speed boost while swimming.
