| Topic | Should I buy KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE? |

I would argue KH2 was Dark Souls before Dark Souls <_< I actually dropped KH2 because I found the gameplay to be disappointly simple, shallow, railroaded, and "weightless" (in the sense that you don't actually feel connected to the character). That last part about feeling disconnected is the most important to me personally. I feel like an older sibling is actually playing and they just handed me a disconnected controller so I'd feel involved. ... it's just not kinesthetically fun to engage with. I've been told a million times to replay it on Proud, but Twilight Town drains so much out of me every time I give the game another shot. I've tried maybe 5 or 6 times over the years. The last thing is disconnected from the gameplay, but the tone the series takes starting with KH2 is just way too melancholic for me. It's not dark and fucked up enough for me to actually feel anything and it's not silly and lighthearted enough for me turn my brain off and feel like a kid again. Which is weird to say about a video game where you fight alongside Disney characters. --- "Well, thanks to the Internet, I'm now bored with sex." - Philip J. Fry ... Copied to Clipboard! |
