Here's what's going to happen. Trump will start some bullshit war somewhere. Maybe the war itself will turn into an absolute shitshow, or maybe it'll be this pathetic small basically irrelevant thing that gets enough photos taken the right wing propaganda like Fox blares all day every day about how amazingly it's going when in reality nothing happens (frankly I suspect it'll be the latter because this regime is both stupid and incompetent and I don't frankly believe for a minute they have the skill to invade even Mexico).
In either scenario Trump will simply use his executive powers to declare there will be no election until the "war" is over (and this war will either conveniently never end or another paltry conflict will be started right before it does).
Congress will ignore the illegal conduct of the President like everything else they have ignored so far (case in point the illegal tariffs), law enforcement will enact his will because of how corrupted it all is, and your electoral commission will jump up and down for a week or two before giving up because they have zero power to override the active orders from the President if congress and law enforcement don't step in.
Look, I have made my pessimism about where we are going with Trump obvious in multiple topics, but even Im getting sick of seeing multiple people act like this is a certainty. This is so far beyond what he has done so far, though I would not be surprised if he tried it, and do not rule out it going badly (for us), it is far too soon to treat it as a certainty.
