"The Department of Defense will undoubtedly play an important role towards meeting the Presidents objective to eliminate the ability of these cartels to threaten the territory, safety, and security of the United States and its people," Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell tells The Daily Mail.

"These cartels have engaged in historic violence and terror throughout our Hemisphereand around the globe-- that has destabilized economies and internal security of countries but also flooded the United States with deadly drugs, violent criminals, and vicious gangs," he also said.

Unless the attack was done with the support of the Mexican Government it would be an unjustified act of war, and Mexico would be justified to respond.

If we're going to attack Mexico's drug cartels because of the damage they do around the world, Mexico should attack the White House, Pentagon, Congress, Supreme Court and US Military Bases. They all do more damage to the world than all the drug cartels and terrorist cells in existence.

There is no way the U.S. is going to win a war in Mexico.

It's going to be Iraq all over again. Except this wed have a large contingent of Latinos to (justifiably) deal with at home.

This is a no win situation which is exactly why Trump will do it. All to look good against the gravy seals in Iowa and Arkansas.

Do not kid yourself, she is doing a lot of the same things Trump is doing here in Mexico, complete with diluting the separation of powers, going on a crusade against truth, and generally saying dumb stuff like her "project" to make the electric bill lower is for people to spend less power.

That's the point, they keep floating the idea of attacking other countries to see which will be the most tolerable to people when they need a war to suspend elections.

Not looking forward to what happens when civilians are inevitably killed "by accident".

My in laws live in Mexico, in a city known for high cartel activity, so this is very terrifying for my family. If Trump does this, and even one innocent person dies, the blood will be on the hands of every single person who cast a vote for him. They will all be morally guilty of murder.

the cartels are much ingrained in Mexico most local law enforcement and politicians are involved with them

the national army isnt as corrupted but they still have cartel members and Mexico isnt the only country with cartel groups

that and most of the south border patrol has cartel members too

own of the reason theyve been able to push drugs to the USA, the border patrol helps them

this is just trump not knowing shit about anything

He could suspend elections at any time for any reason because no one is stopping anything he does. The US has never delayed an election before, a quick google search says there isn't even an official method to do so. I stand by my post that starting a war does not mean he "could" do it. It's just a question of if he will do it and what if anything will be done to stop him.
