Whats the point of mods and I know I might sound old for saying this, but remember GameShark?

For what its worth, I never used things like gamesharks or code breakers for games myself for the vast majority of games.

I have the exact same mentality on this kind of thing as a young teenager that I do now as a 42 year old.......its neat to have a laugh for about 20 minutes to be unkillable in something like a GTA game and rampaging as a unkillable god, but I legit could not actually use these kind of cheats for an entire playthrough on games like resident evil or devil may cry for example and any rpg in existence. The entire point of the rpg genre is to level up, come up with strategies to make progression as smooth as possible and whatnot...cheating like this in a rpg is straight up invalidating the genre itself.

It just feels boring to me and a waste of money (like in general just money spent buying a game just to cheat through it. Its the equivalent of just watching a youtube playthrough, again imo).

The main games I used devices like gameshark for is to get things that are legit unattainable. Pokemon was the main series since we overseas fans got screwed on so many of those japan only events back in the day. Games like resident evil outbreak files 1 and 2 had unobtainable characters and whatnot, so gamesharks was cool for this kind of thing.
