I'm generally ok with "story modes" for people who don't want any challenge, but always dealing 9,999 damage? The players won't be dying anyway, so why not have them deal normal damage? Almost every enemy will die in one hit here - you won't even feel the gameplay.

Assuming its a toggle, it could be useful in allowing people whove played through the game before access postgame content quickly, but I dont remember there being that much in this game. I guess I never went through Hard Mode though

Not like you all are forced to use the mode for one, and I could see it's value in a replay. Used the God Mode for FF7 og on Switch during a replay a few years back

I don't see the issue. What's the difference between having an optional God Mode and using an easily obtainable cheat code? It's also for a five-year-old game, and I could see using it in a replay.

Seems fine, I won't use that mode (on any subsequent playthrough considering I've already beat it) but it's not being added for me and it existing doesn't harm my enjoyment.

Looks like they're individual toggles. Like you can turn on Max items without turning on the other things.

I'm okay with this if you can split them from each other (e.g. you don't have to be both invincible and an instant death-dealer at the same time), and especially if there's an added difficulty setting that gives enemies instant-kill attacks so that expert players can test themselves by turning it into a game of rocket-tag.

i rather have helper on the minigame :(.

I don't see a problem with them, especially if they are toggles. They would be very useful in New Game+ if you're just trying to get the things you might have missed in the first playthrough.

They shoulda gone the Xenoblade 2 route and allow parameter changes for:

HP (For You and Enemies)
MP Cost and MP Recharge Rate
ATB Recharge Rate
Unique Ability Recharge Rate
Pressure Damage

Initial Stagger %, and Duration
Status Effect Length
Limit Gauge Charge rate
EXP, Gil, AP, Item Drop Modifers
Item Use in Hard Mode, and a Option to allow limited # of Items in combat ala Kingdom Hearts

Allow Multiple Elemental Materia to be equipped, and give more of the materia in general
More Combat Shortcuts (Like the Tales of games)
Break HP Limit
Increase Materia Slots to 8, even if you dont have the armor
And for Rebirth, Allow Synergy Abilities with non active members

Blasting your way through the story is a fun option to have. Don't worry: they aren't going to force you to do it.

I'm just glad we're calling it God Mode again instead of pretending it's about "accessibility" or something.

It's probably toggleable like they did for the remasters/ports of FF8 and 9. Not worth the freak out guys lol

It's always cute seeing and noting who gets bent out of shape over things like this. You just know they're the same sort of "developers' vision!11" crowd that is firmly opposed to things like Souls games getting an easy mode, even if completely optional.

Wow, the head start mode they already added when Rebirth came out so newcomers could catch up quickly wasnt enough?

Game is piss easy for the most part anyways, idk why you would even want this outside of "Press Square to win"

The actual closest that Remake came to being properly difficult was when I was doing a No SP, min HP, min MP run in Hard Mode. I was walled by the Scorpion mech for 4 hours and am walled by the Penultimate (Whisper) boss, but that's because you die in 3 hits in a gauntlet without being able to reliably heal between fights.

Rest of the game is near brain dead if you're playing remotely smart.

The game isn't really difficult to begin with. Let people have their story mode, it doesn't cheapen whatever challenges you've done. The story in the game is pretty damn easy overall and that's who this stuff is catered to, people who want to experience that.

Not to mention people who might want a refresher before part 3 but don't want to sink hours into gameplay just for the story.

CE when easy mode is added to a game they find hard versus CE when easy mode is added to a game they don't find hard themselves.

This! Jesus, CE is annoying sometimes. And this is coming from a person who'd probably never use these options. And hell, some people want to beat the game and just aren't great at it and need these options (and no, watching a playthrough is not the same thing so please stop saying that stupid shit too). No way my gf could beat this game on her own. So why complain? If you don't like them, don't use them.

Because you are thinking about it from your perspective and your perspective only. Not everyone is a capable gamer. My gf plays games occasionally and she could NOT beat Remake on her own.

I would prefer infinite mp or 10x ap than those the item one might be nice, but only for crafting etc

For people who just want to see the story. I dont have a problem with this.

That's cool.

A lot of people are going to be ignorant of different mechanics though like different weapons, learning a weapons abilities, using magic, etc.

But if people want a gimped experience more power to them.
