Seems like a few outlier comments rather than "the community".

It definitely looks different, and not necessarily "the same, but better". Some things were lost. Some things were added. But that's just how these paintjobs go. The game is so old that you can't really give it a facelift and it look good, so you have to make changes.

Take the ring for example. Yes, it's more prominent in the OG, but also far less of a realistic look. Something in the distance like that would not be so prominent.

Something else that stands out is the vegetation. Yes, there is so much in the new version... because there was practically none in the old version.

Anyone who goes into this looking for a 1 to 1 copy is doing themself a disservice, no matter the game. The entire point is that it's supposed to be a new visual perspective on an existing game. You're supposed to be like "oh, it's this place" but also, you're supposed to think "oh, it looks different".

The original "soul" was always going to take a hit, because part of that soul is attached to lesser graphics and how it worked.

Boletaria (DeS) was one of my favorite game locations. When Demons Souls remake came out and gave it a huge facelift, I absolutely loved what they did with it. I hope a lot of Halo fans can enjoy the new graphics.
