It'd be a certain death if a coup failed. It's why most dictatorships stay in power for as long as they do. The guy is not off from attacking Japan or South Korea at a moment's notice. He's as dangerous and mentally unstable as you can get. The government there does feed off of scare tactics, and so far they haven't done anything to show their real guns, but it doesn't take much to trigger them.
