It is probably the only fully realized Yoko Taro game, due to the sheer one a kind ability of Platinum, and it makes the entire experience just so much better than the sum of its parts. The music isn't on par, it's straight up better. I love Nier 1 a lot but other than nostalgia, Nier 2 destroys it in every category. And honestly I just rewatched the ending of 2 on youtube and the nostalgia is just as strong, for a game I finished 3 weeks ago, as for a game I finished 5 years ago.
