You sort of answered your own question about 1997 here. If you ask me, 1997 is basically a one-game-year also. Goldeneye has some strength, but I don't think it's anywhere near what this board makes it out to be. There's also SotN, but that's not really a super powerhouse either, and I expect it will have a decent amount of overlap with FFVII anyways. Basically I think having a lot of good games that cover many different fanbases (this second part is key) is a lot more important than having one really strong game. I don't even have 1997 making it that far since I have it losing to 2000 (which I expect should be close), but if it makes it to 2001 I'm expecting it to lose handily. --- I guess DpObliVion gets to be in my sig now.
