This topic made me think...
The way the world is like today, it must be almost impossible for modern kids to really understand how it was like to grow up in the 80s.
No cellphones, computers were not as popular, it existed multiple home computer formats that were not compatible with each others, a slowass modem was a dream.
Wanted to contact a friend? Use a landline phone and hope that he was home. Oh, and no number presentation.
Videogames?
Hook the console to a TV and start it. It played games offline, thats it. It did nothing more.
The world itself was a darker place with two superpowers that could nuke the crap out of each others at least five times each. It was lighter than earlier decades, but the thought of worldwide devastation still existed.
The clothes... its impossible to explain the clothes...
TV?
Alright, cable existed and satellites started to be popular, but where I grew up we only had two TV channels. Both Public Service channels.
And to physically rent VHS tapes, or even Betamax...
